Alfredo “Freddy” Ruiz, 61, of Brady

Alfredo “Freddy” Ruiz, age 61, of Brady, Texas passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 in San Angelo, Texas.  Freddy, as he was known by most, was born April 19, 1961 in Beeville, Texas to Robert Ruiz and Sulema (Hernandez) Ruiz.  He was raised in Brady.  He worked at Kohler in Brownwood for several years before moving to Ft. Worth, where he lived for several years.  He also was a car transporter for Cowboy Cars Sales.  He moved back to Brady in 2020 and worked for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  He liked to fish, gardening, taking care of plants and Bar-B-Queuing with friends.  He enjoyed garage sales and especially loved his dog “Sancho”  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfredo Ruiz will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating.  Freddy’s remains will be cremated and the cremated remains will be interred at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady at a later date.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.  Friends may view and/or sign Freddy’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.  Pallbearers will be Keith Gentile, Patrick Garcia, Jason Villarreal, Terry Cerrillo, Raul Ruiz and Joe Constancia.

Freddy is survived by his parent, Robert and Sulema Ruiz of Brady, Texas; sons Nicholas Ruiz of Brownwood, Texas and Jaron Covey of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter Jackie Galvan (Eddie) of Brownwood, Texas; sisters Rosario Nunez (Gary) of Wharton, Texas, Frances Gentile (Keith) of San Angelo, Texas and Patricia Ruiz (Patrick Garcia) of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren Olive Ruiz, Otto Ruiz, Jasmine Rivas and Khloe Galvan and several nieces and nephews.  The Ruiz Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. David Cummings and his staff, Regency House and their staff and the Staff of Concho Hearts Hospice for the outstanding care and support extended to Freddy and our family.  Memorial contributions in memory of Alfredo “Freddy” Ruiz may be made to Concho Hearts Hospice, 2007 West Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas 76901 or online at www.conchoheartshospice.com.
