Noemi Gamez Aguirre, age 81, of Brady, Texas passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 in San Angelo, Texas. Noemi was born December 3, 1940 in Hatchel, Texas to Horace Gamez and Maria (Valdez) Gamez. She married Abel Aguirre on February 15, 1963 in Hereford, Texas. In 1967 Abel and Noemi moved to Brady. Noemi retired from the Brady Independent School District, where she worked for 20 years. Noemi was active in her community. After retiring, she volunteered at the McCulloch County Helping Hands center for several years. She also volunteered in the concession stands for the Brady Youth Sports Foundation and the Brady Independent School District and she served on the Catholic Life Insurance Board for several years. She had a welcoming nature about her and always had the door open. She was a big Elvis Pressley fan and enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and cooking. She especially loved her grandbabies and the parties for them and she treasured the family gatherings. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady and a member of the Guadalupanas.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Noemi Aguirre will be at 10:00am Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Noemi Aguirre is survived by her son Anselmo “Sammy” Aguirre and wife Clorinda of Brady, TX; daughters Delma Medrano and husband Jack of Brady, TX and Delilah Sanchez and husband Lino of Brady, TX; daughter-in-love Rosie Aguirre of Brady, TX; brothers Ismael Gamez of Hereford, TX, Benjamin Gamez and wife Frances of Phoenix, AZ, James Gamez and wife Mely of Hereford, TX and Joaquin Gamez and wife Gloria of Hereford, TX; sister Connie Balderaz and husband Joe of Amarillo, TX; sister-in-law Mary Ann Aguirre; grandchildren Samantha Salas, Anyssa Aguirre, Lorna Vela, Nathan Aguirre, Reno Sanchez, Ethan Medrano, Jerimiah Medrano, Izabella Sanchez, Aubriella Aguirre and Toby Sanchez; great-grandchildren Jaiden Aguirre, Nevaeh Salas, Matheus Salas, George Vela, Damian Vela, Hayze Vela, Garrison Garza and Bronson Speck and numerous nieces and nephews.
Noemi was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Isaias Gamez, Antulio Gamez and Servio Gamez and sister Mitzi Gonzales.
