Early traffic stop results in arrests of two on multiple charges

The Early Police Department posted information on the following arrests on its Facebook page Wednesday morning:

On Tuesday, Aug. 16 at approximately 10:20 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Early Blvd. for a traffic violation. During the contact with the driver, Cynthia Darlene Webb, officers obtained permission to search the vehicle. The driver and passenger, Jerry Don Wallace, exited the vehicle and requested to get 2 puppies from the vehicle. While getting their puppies both attempted to conceal and remove a bag that could have been used to hide a weapon in.

Officers then searched those bags finding several baggies of methamphetamines, marijuana, Xanax, and paraphernalia. Both individuals were detained after finding the methamphetamines.

The passenger, Jerry Don Wallace began resisting officers had to forcibly place him in handcuffs. When officers searched further, they located numerous items of identification including credit cards, drivers’ licenses and social security cards that had been reported to the Brownwood Police Department along with several items that had been reported stolen from a storage building in Brownwood.

Jerry Don Wallace was charged with possession of controlled substance Penalty group 1 in a drug free zone, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 in a drug free zone, Fraudulent use or possession of identifying information more than 10 items, Possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cynthia Darlene Webb was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance Penalty group 1 in a drug free zone, tampering with evidence, possession of controlled substance penalty group 3 in a drug free zone, Fraudulent use or possession of identifying information more than 10 items, Possession of marijuana, failure to maintain financial responsibility, defective lights and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Brown County Jail.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16 at approximately 8 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Early Blvd. for a traffic violation. When the officer approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana could be smelled coming from the vehicle. The officers conducted a PC search and located marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Charles Sharp was placed under arrest and taken to the Brown County Jail and charged with possession of marijuana.
