Victor Gonzales Garcia, Sr., age 77, of Brady, Texas passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Brownwood, Texas.  Victor was born March 6, 1945 in Runge, Texas to Castulo Garcia, Sr. and Carmen (Gonzales) Garcia.  He lived most of his life in the Brady area and married Graviela “Elsie” Adame on February 1, 1964 in Brady.  He was a self-employed building contractor by trade and also worked at a golf course for a while as a groundskeeper for the City of Houston and at Loadcraft in Brady.  He was a hard working man.  He enjoyed bingo, music, playing the accordion and riding his “buggy” and tractor around his place.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Victor Garcia, Sr. will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenen officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Victor Garcia is survived by his son Victor Garcia, Jr. and his wife Mandy of Brownwood, Texas; daughters Sandra Garcia Vara and husband Gary of Brownwood, Texas and Jennifer Garcia of Brady, Texas; brother Castulo “Tony” Garcia, Jr. of Humble, Texas; sisters Eloisa Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Texas, Viola Elizondo of Houston, Texas and Maria Elena Gonzales of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren Collin Garcia, Courtney Garcia, Mallory Garcia, Tristyn Garcia, Connor Vara, Caydon Vara, Olivia Garcia and Alex Garcia; great-grandchildren Samuel David Griffin, Brady Michael Garcia, Carson Wiley and Casen Wiley and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Castulo & Carmen Garcia, his wife Graviela “Elsie” Garcia, son Michael Garcia, sisters Ninfa Vasquez and Cecilia Garza and brother Joe Garcia.
