KOXE/KBWD Radio held its 46th Annual Cherry Pie Auction Saturday at the Adams Street Community Center.  Of the items taken home, more than $13,600 had already been collected.  For those who bid over the phone or were not present when the event concluded at 2 p.m. Saturday, they may still pick up and pay for their items Monday, which will then finalize the dollar figure for 2022.

The money raised will be split evenly between the Brownwood Freshman Baseball League, the Brownwood Girls Softball Association, Soccer For Fun and the Cen-Tex Soccer Association.  More than 1,500 boys and girls participate and every penny raised goes directly to those youth sports programs.

Carl Wayne and Derrick Stuckly provided traditional live on-site coverage on KOXE 101.3 FM and the event was also livestreamed at KOXE.com by Randy Turner and Starr Goins.

Started in 1977 by Dallas Huston and Bill Jamar, the Cherry Pie Auction features pies, cakes, and additional baked goods up for donation, while sports memorabilia, along with goods and services provided by area businesses, go to the highest bidders.
