UPDATE 5:20 pm – FM 2805, which runs north and south between US Highway 67 (just east of Talpa) to Highway 153 (just west of Hords Creek Lake) is in danger of the wildfire.  Law enforcement now in the area recommending residents on FM 2805 evacuate.

GLEN COVE – As of 4:25 pm Monday, the Coleman County Sheriff’s Department was beginning to go door to door in the community of Glen Cove, located on Highway 153 in western Coleman County, recommending that residents evacuate.  A large wildfire started in eastern Runnels County earlier in the afternoon and was pushed by strong west winds toward the east into western Coleman County. Affected is the area between Highway 67 at Talpa northward along FM 2132 to Highway 153 near the Coleman/Runnels County line.
