BROWNWOOD – In a game broadcast Tuesday night on KOXE, the Brownwood Lion baseball team dropped their first game of District 6-4A to the Glen Rose Tigers by a final of 6-2.

The Lions had plenty of opportunities but left 11 runners stranded on base and committed four errors.

The Lions got a good performance from their starting pitcher.  Gavin Brandstetter went 6.1 innings before reaching his pitch count.  He struck out 14 and allowed three unearned runs on three hits.

At the plate, the Lions drew nine walks but had only three hits – a second-inning two-out infield single by Jordyn Nickerson, a third-inning RBI infield single by Brandstetter, and a fourth-inning two-out RBI infield single by Case Markham.

Next games on tap for the Lions will be those they play in the Bowie Tournament this Thursday through Saturday. The next district game comes next Tuesday, March 15, in Lampasas beginning at 7:00 pm.
