Carol Ann McGinn of Rising Star, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 13th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.
Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church in Rising Star, Texas on March 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, FC Parks Jr. and Geraldine Parks; 2 brothers, Roy Parks and Bobby Parks; sister, Patsy Daily.
Carol was brought into this world on March 9, 1962 to her parents, Geraldine and FC Parks Jr. in Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen years later, she married the love of her life, Randy McGinn on May 19, 1978. They started their life journey at 16 and 19 years old and spent 44 years together. They had two children, Randy McGinn Jr. and Tasha Mendoza.
Carol spent 18 years at the Rising Star ISD Cafeteria and gained many friends that she considered family. She loved all of the kids there with all of her heart and considered them hers.
When she retired, she spent time enjoying her grandkids and doing women work like mowing the yard for her husband. Carol enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, hunting and fishing with her pride and joy, the love of her life of 44 years and watching her grandkids and supporting them in the stands for every game.
She gave up retirement for a while, where she worked for the famous Star Grocery in Rising Star, Texas. There she gained many more friendships and loved them all. GO TEAM GO!
Many adventures were had, tears, hugs and kisses and no desert. She was definitely one of a kind with a heart of gold and smile that last for days. When Carol loved you, she loved you with her whole heart. She will be missed by all.
Carol went to her forever home on March 6, 2022 with her husband and two children by her side. She leaves behind in this world for her memory to carry on, the love of her life for 44 years, husband, Randy McGinn of Rising Star, Texas; son, Randy McGinn Jr. and wife, Becky of Rising Star, Texas; daughter, Tasha Mendoza and husband, Nahum of Brownwood, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Alexzandria Mendoza, Trinity Mendoza, Dustin McGinn, Kaitlyn McGinn, Mariah Ferguson and Cody Spears; great grandson, Bentley Spears; as well as many brothers, sister-in-law’s, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
