The Brownwood Lady Lions softball team is now 5-3 on the season following a non-district loss to the Breckenridge Lady Bucks 9-2 Friday evening. The Lady Lions held the early lead 2-0 but Breckenridge bats came alive in the 4th and 5th innings. The runs for Brownwood were as follows:
Brownwood took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Chloe Walls reached on an error, Mia Lopez drew a walk and Annie-Klein Allgood followed with an RBI single.
In the bottom of the second, Peyton Pena led off with a double, Jeniffer Ramero walked with one out, and Lopez’s two-out RBI single past first base plated Pena.
In a quick turnaround, the Lady Lions are back in action today (Saturday) as they return to the Llano softball tournament.
