Fire destroyed two buildings in downtown Richland Springs Thursday.  The old City Hall and the mercantile building are total losses.  According to news reports, Mayor Johnny Reeves said the fire started in the mercantile building then spread to the old city hall.  There were no injuries reported.  Cause of the fire was not known as of  Thursday afternoon.  Firefighters from Richland Springs, San Saba and Elm Grove battled the flames.
