Lions Win / Lady Lions Lose in Stephenville

STEPHENVILLE – The Brownwood Lions improved to 2-0 in District 6-4A boys basketball action Friday night, going on the road and securing a 67-59 victory over rival Stephenville.

Luke Moss paced the Lions with 20 points trailed by Bryson Monroe with 17 points, Jakob Hataway with 11 points, and Christian Kinzler with 10 points.

The Lions travel to Glen Rose (16-6, 0-1) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for their first meeting of the year with their 6-4A rivals.

LADY LIONS
The Brownwood Lady Lions (18-11, 1-3) wrapped up the first half of District 6-4A girls basketball in fourth place following Friday night’s 51-28 road loss to No. 24 Stephenville.

Jaylen Savage led Brownwood with 12 points trailed by Tessa Goodwin with six, Kynslee Walker with five, Lexi Greer with three, and Mady Pyle with two points.

The Lady Lions visit No. 8 Glen Rose (26-4, 4-0) at 6 p.m. Tuesday to start the second half of league play.
