The Texas A&M Forest Service late Saturday afternoon issued a final update on the Mariah Ridge Fire which flared up Friday night about halfway between Cross Cut and Cross Plains. Numerous area fire departments worked to bring the fire under control. Hot spots popped up Saturday but were taken care of. In a statement from the Forest Service.
“Final Update: the #MariahRidgeFire is 586 acres and 100% contained. Crews finished containing the fire and mitigating any issues across the fire area.”
