GATESVILLE – The Brownwood Lady Lions scored their lone goal in the final minute, which allowed them to force a 1-1 tie with Robinson in their opening game at the Gatesville girls soccer tournament Friday night. The Lady Lions (1-0-1) will resume tournament action at 11:45 a.m. Saturday against host Gatesville. Brownwood’s slated tournament game against Manor Tech on Saturday has been canceled.

GEORGETOWN – The Brownwood Lions soccer team is continuing to search for its first victory under new head coach Michael Westerman following a 4-0 loss Friday to Austin Liberal Arts and Science Academy during the Georgetown Governor’s Cup. The Lions (0-3) yielded all four goals in the first half, then played their best half of soccer in the young season, according to Westerman. Brownwood will conclude tournament play at 10:50 a.m. Saturday against Harmony Austin.
