Brown County Burn Ban Continues

Brown County Commissioners, in session Tuesday morning, January 4, elected to leave the Burn Ban in place in Brown County.  Even though no major fires have been reported, conditions remain very dry.

Commissioners heard from Brown County Emergency Management Coordinator, Chief Darrell Johnston, who provided the most recent data (dated January 4) from the Texas A&M Forest Service.  The data shows Brown County and neighboring counties in a High Fire Danger Rating (Very High in Callahan and western Eastland counties.)

Given no rain in the forecast and dry conditions, the Burn Ban remains until further notice.
