John David Shaw, 64, of Early

John David Shaw, age 64, of Early, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at his home following a sudden illness.

He was born April 14, 1957, in Houston, Texas, the son of John Wayne and Helen Louise (McHouell) Shaw.  He was married to the love of his life, Jennifer Soule in Houston on February 11, 1978.  They lived in Brownwood prior to moving to Austin in 2002, where they lived for awhile, and then back to Early where he had lived for the past few years following the death of his wife in 2014.  He loved to play the guitar and was a musician.  He especially enjoyed fishing and collecting things.  He was known to live life his way and enjoying it to the fullest.

He is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca O’Neal and husband Scottye of Brownwood and Stephanie Netherton of Cameron, his son, John Shaw and wife Michelle of Weatherford, a sister, Jan Meyer of Star City, Indiana, and a brother Samuel Shaw of Porter, Texas.  Eight grandchildren and a great-grandson also survive with a great-granddaughter on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 30, in the Davis-Morris Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.  Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
