Jack Gartman, age 76, of Brady, Texas passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence in Brady, Texas.

Jack was born December 3, 1945 in Big Spring, Texas to D.R. Gartman and Anna (Foster) Gartman.  He grew up in Big Spring, graduating from Big Spring High School in 1964.  He attended the University of North Texas in Denton where he earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.  He married Donna Mitchell on August 19, 1989 in Rochelle, Texas.  He was a teacher at the Brady I.S.D. and Rochelle I.S.D. for many years.  He also taught psychology for the Central Texas College for several years.  He has lived in Brady for over 31 years and was a member of the First Christian Church in Brady.  He was a JFK history buff and enjoyed playing golf, listening to Bob Dylan music and spending time with his grandchildren.

Graveside services for Jack Gartman will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Rochelle Cemetery in Rochelle with Reverend Stacey Evans officiating.

Jack is survived by his wife Donna Gartman of Brady, TX; daughters Sterling Roddie of Brady, TX and Shannon Davenport of Brownwood, TX; brother Mike Gartman and wife Susy and their son Jake of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Jaye Roddie, Journey Roddie and Jameson Roddie and his great-granddaughter Josephine Zapata.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Jim Bob Roddie.  Memorial contributions in memory of Jack Gartman may be made to Hospice of San Angelo, Inc, P.
