Five more candidates filed to run in the Brown County Republican Primary which will be held in March 2022. The filings took place Monday morning in the office of Brown County Republican Party Chairman, Robert Porter

Those who wish to run for public office can file between now and 6 p.m. Dec. 13. File with the party chairman of the party you wish to run in. The Republican Party Chair is Robert Porter who can be reached at 325-642-5383. The Brown County Democrat Party Chair is Mike Bullard who can be reached at 325-643-2881 .
Thus far, there are five contested races in the Republican Primary:
- Brown County Judge between incumbent Dr. Paul Lilly and Molly Kay Smith. Shane Britton has announced his candidacy for County Judge but, as of late Monday afternoon, had not officially filed.
- Precinct 2 County Commissioner between incumbent Joel Kelton, Bo Allen and Jeff Hoskinson
- Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace between incumbent Bryan Thompson and Brian Edwards
- Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace between incumbent Ted Perez and Rusty Howell
- Precinct 4 County Commissioner between incumbent Larry Traweek and George Huseman

- Incumbent County Commissioner, Precinct 2, Joel Kelton
- Running for Precinct 4 County Commissioner is George Huseman
- Running for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 is Rusty Howell.
- Running for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, is Brian Edwards
On Tuesday, November 16, those filing were:
Molly Kay Smith for the Office of County Judge and Bo Allen filed for the Office of Precinct 2 County Commissioner.
On Thursday, November 18, those filing were:
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Doug Hurt and Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Bryan Thompson both filed for re-election
