COVID Report – Six in hospital, Four Deaths, Cases Decline

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 26 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 26 positives this week, 16 were PCR, and 10 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 1 case met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.

There are 6 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.

Four new deaths have been reported: Two females in their 50s, one female in her 70s, and one male in his 70s– none from nursing facilities.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 15,639 (67 additional)
  • People fully vaccinated –  14,110 (122 additional)
  • Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 39.08% – Five to elven year old children have been added to the eligible population resulting in a drop in the vaccination rate.

36,099 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older.
