Howard Payne University will participate in GivingTuesday on Nov. 30. The event is a global day of giving that unites people, communities and organizations to celebrate generosity and raise support for non-profit organizations.
HPU’s goal is to raise a total of $500,000 through the support of at least 200 people. The university is seeking support for all areas of need, including scholarship funds, athletics, the Howard Payne Fund, campus improvements, the Newbury Family Welcome Center, the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom renovation project or other areas as specified by supporters.
Dr. Dale Meinecke, vice president for development, said that a gift from an HPU graduate will provide important momentum for donations made on GivingTuesday.
“We are elated that a generous member of the HPU family has provided a challenge gift of $250,000,” said Dr. Dale Meinecke, vice president for development. “This is a wonderful message of encouragement to the rest of HPU’s supporters as we seek to maximize the long-lasting impact this day will have on our university’s Christ-centered academic community, where we genuinely care to fully develop students spiritually, academically and vocationally.”
