MILLS COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has reduced traffic down to one lane on FM 574, on the Pecan Bayou Bridge, which is approximately 7 miles west of Goldthwaite. This lane closure is due to an overnight crash which resulted in damage to the west bound bridge railing.

Message boards are being used to alert motorists to this closure and temporary traffic signals will control alternating directions of travel through this area until repairs to the bridge railing can be completed.

Motorists are asked to use caution in this area, pay attention to road signs and traffic signals, avoid distractions, and slow their speed in this area.
