Three Deaths, Six in Hospital With COVID

The number of COVID cases decreased by two this week compared to last week.

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 51 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 51 positives this week, 31 were PCR, and 20 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 5 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.

There are 6 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.

Three new deaths have been reported: Two females in their 60s and one male in his 70s – none from nursing facilities.  Vaccination information is below.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 15,572 (205 additional)
  • People fully vaccinated –  13,988 (135 additional)
  • Percentage of people 12+ fully vaccinated – 42.52%

30,883 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 12 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older.
