District Court – Four Sentenced to Prison

According to District Attorney, Micheal Murray, the following felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Mike Smith, presiding.

Matthew Guerra pled guilty to the felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and Evading Arrest with Vehicle and was sentenced to Fifteen (15) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Cody Ray Schaffer pled guilty to the felony offense of Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility and was sentenced to Four (4) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Schaffer, pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Twelve (12) months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Elbert Turner pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Ten (10) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Jeremy Moreno, on probation for the felony offense or Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to Nine (9) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
