COVID Report – 3 Deaths, Cases Decline

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 68 positive COVID-19 test results.  This represents the lowest number of weekly positive cases since the middle of July 2021.

Of the 68 positives this week, 46 were PCR, and 22 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 8 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and sever symptom breakthrough cases.

Three new deaths have been reported: one male in his 50s, one female in her 70s, and one male in his 80s – none from a nursing facility

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 15,148 (106 additional)
  • People fully vaccinated –  13,538 (223 additional)
  • Percentage of people 12+ fully vaccinated – 41.15%

30,883 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 12 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
