The cold weather hasn’t arrived yet, but we know it’s coming, and we all remember the winter fury this past February.

The Brownwood Salvation Army is preparing to help their clients who may need some extra warmth by opening their Winter Room to donations from the public.

“People can drop off new or gently used items, anything you would need for the winter.  That can be heaters, coats, blankets, socks, gloves, toboggans – anything someone would need for the winter months,” said Stacy Tennison, Brownwood Salvation Army Service Center Director.

“They can drop donations off at Salvation Army (403 Lakeway Drive) Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  If those times don’t work, they can give us a call at 325-646-5369.  We allow our clients to come in when they are here for lunch and pick items, free of charge, for all of our clients,” Tennison said.
