The Brown County Sheriff’s Department answered the following calls for service between Thursday, September 2, and Monday, September 6.
- On Thursday, September 2, Deputy Saydie Bradley, received a call of animal cruelty in May. A report was made.
- On Friday, September 3, Deputy Saydie Bradley, received a call of a theft at The Boat Lodge located at N HWY 279. A report was made.
- On Saturday, September 4 at about 11:21 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at CR 347 in Early. This was in regards to a theft. Langley spoke to a victim who stated someone had got into his vehicle and taken items without his consent.
- On Saturday, September 4 at around 12:57 p.m. Deputy Carlyle Gover and Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Turner Drive. This was in reference to a neighbor spotting a trespasser on the property. The trespasser was found on the property, but resisted deputies attempts to detain him twice. The trespasser was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and two counts of Resisting Arrest.
- On Saturday, September 4 at approximately 12:46 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to CR 147, Bangs. This was in reference to a subject who was trespassing on the property.
- On Saturday, September 4 at about 2:04 hrs. p.m, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Simply Irresistible located at N 279 in Brownwood. This was in regards to found property. Langley spoke with a complainant, who stated she had found a female wallet on the floor.
- On Saturday, September at around 1:23 p.m. Deputy Carlyle Gover and Deputy Byron Langley arrested an individual for trespassing on a Turner Drive property. While being transported to the Brown County Jail, the individual kicked Deputy Gover’s rear driver side door, causing damage. After being released to jail staff, a report was made.
- On Sunday, September 5 at approximately 11:48 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the Hendrick Medical Clinic in Brownwood. This was in reference to an animal bite.
- On Sunday, September 5 at 4:36 p.m. Corporal Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to 3500 block of CR 152. This was in regards to an unknown person striking the callers fence. Upon arrival, information was gathered, and a report was taken.
- On Sunday, September 5, Deputy Chris Angel was dispatched to Luker Circle. This was in reference to a domestic disturbance. Angel made contact with a male and female. They had been in a verbal argument and the female slashed the tire on the male’s pickup.
- On Monday, September 6 at approximately 8:45 a.m., Deputy Andre Smoot with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, responded to N 3rd Street in Bangs. This was for a criminal mischief call regarding spray paint.
- On Monday, September 6, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher, took a report from a complainant that her Jeep was stolen by a suspect earlier in the day. Later in the day, some friends of the complainant found the suspect driving the Jeep in Brownwood, where they called police. The suspect was subsequently arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
- On Monday, September 6, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a criminal trespass call in progress. Once on scene the suspect was gone, information was gathered, and a criminal trespass report was completed.
- On Monday, September 6, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to EZ-Mart at 9220 Hwy 279. This was for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Mathis was informed the vehicle had left and located it north of the store. The driver was gone and the passenger was arrested for Public Intoxication.
- On Monday, September 6, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher, took a report, by phone, from a complainant that advised a suspect had borrowed a Dr. Trimmer and refused to return it.
