Virginia Cortez Reyes, 66 of Brady, Texas entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 29, 2021. She was born on November 17, 1954 in Brady, Texas.

She was a very caring wife, loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. She never met a stranger. Her faith was portrayed in the care she showed everyone she met, and she enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and baking in which she shared with others.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Mary Reyes, Yolanda and husband Raymond Zapata, Josefine Reyes and companion Henry Jolly; as well as sons, Ausencio Reyes Jr and wife Alana, Paul Reyes and wife Camron, Ezekiel Reyes and wife Kristina, and Thomas Reyes; 17 grandchildren, Joshua Zapata, Jacob Zapata, Jocelyn Hicks, Jayson Jolly, Isabella Jolly, Gabriella Reyes, Kyrsten Reyes, Paul Reyes, Mattison Weeden, Ezekiel Reyes, Kristoffer Reyes, Alexandra Reyes, Devin Darnaby, Samantha Reyes, Adam Reyes, Anthony Reyes, Haley Reyes; Great Grandson, Malachi Reyes. She also leaves behind a sister, Sarah Reyes of Brady, Texas; a brother, Jesse Cortez and wife Lynda from Spicewood, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Dora Espinoza, Juana Jasso of Brady; Margarita Rodriguez of Brownwood, and Rosa Segovia of San Angelo; brothers-in law, Lourdes Reyes of Brady, Felipe Reyes of Abilene and Jesse Reyes of Brady; and several nephews, nieces and a few cousins.

Virginia has been reunited in death with her Father, Maurico Cortez; Mother, Alejandra Cortez; Grandson, Victor Zapata; and her husband, Ausencio.

Her life verse was “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB.

Visitation Services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Thursday , September 2, 2021.

Funeral services will also be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home Brady, Texas. Burial to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
