Thanks to heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Lake Brownwood was running over the spillway Thursday morning and Lake Coleman is full. Between 6 and 8 inches of rain fell over the Lake Coleman water basin Thursday morning. Two days ago, Lake Coleman was at 86 percent of capacity. Thursday morning, Lake Coleman was full. Heavy rain, upwards of 4 to 5 inches, fell over the Pecan Bayou watershed in northeast Coleman County. Heavy rains also fell over northern Brown County. Water from the Bayou and Jim Ned Creek flowed into Lake Brownwood, taking the lake from 95 percent capacity two days ago to running over the spillway Thursday morning.
