Eve McClain, age 84, of Brownwood passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at home.

Funeral Services for Eve will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with David Barnum officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Eve was born on July 24, 1937, to Reginald and Dorothy (Seward) Slacum in Cambridge, Maryland. She married Don McClain on December 8, 1962, in Brownwood, he preceded her in death January 2, 1996.She loved shopping! She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

Eve is survived by her children, Crystal Gray of Burnet, Robin Hair and husband Larry of Early, Tommy McClain of Lake Brownwood, Shane McClain and wife Kristie of Owens, and O’Neil O’Connor of Brownwood; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister- Mary Lynn of PA; 3 brothers, Charles Slacum and wife JoAnn of Brownwood, Gary Slacum of TN, and Reginald Slacum Jr. of MI; 2 sons-in-law, Mike Bierfreund and Darrell Wright. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including her very special friends, Jan and Jerry Sims.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don McClain; her parents; 2 daughters, Leisa Bierfreund and Debbie Wright; 1 grandson, Jesse James McClain; 1 nephew, Charles Slacum; and 1 son-in-law, Michael O’Connor.
