Mary Porter, age 71, of Brownwood passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Kelly Crenshaw officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Mary was born on July 15, 1950, to Nicholas and Dora (Garcia) Sanchez in Los Angeles, CA. She married David Porter in 1972 in Madera, CA. She loved gardening, all animals, going fishing, and cooking for her family. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, sister, and friend.

Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, David Porter of Brownwood; 2 sons, Marty Sanchez, Tony Sanchez and wife Brenda all of Brownwood; 4 daughters, Tabitha Porter, Moriah Porter, Julie Sanchez, and Jennifer Sanchez all of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, and 1 sister. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Dora Sanchez; 1 great-granddaughter, Hassie Simcox; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
