Come on out to Gordon Wood Stadium Friday morning for some Lion football as 4A Division 2 Salado comes to town for the first scrimmage of the season.

The JV and freshman teams will take the field at 10 a.m., on opposite ends of the stadium, while the varsity teams will scrimmage at 11 a.m.
The format for Friday’s scrimmage is as follows:
Brownwood 1st Defense vs. Salado 1st Offense 12 plays

Scrimmage rules
- Each drive will start at the -30 yard line
- The ball returns to the -30 if a first down is not achieved in three downs, unless inside the +20
- The +20 yard line will be 4 down territory
- The drive will be continued past the play limit if the ball is inside the +20
- If a penalty is taken, it does not count toward the play count. If a penalty is declined, the play counts.
