Lake Brownwood One Foot Over Spillway

As of 5:30 am Tuesday, June 1, Lake Brownwood was one foot and one tenth over spillway, according to John Allen, manager of the Brown County Water Improvement District.  The photo of the spillway was taken at 8:30 am Tuesday by Derrick Stuckly of Brownwoodnews.com.

The photo below is of the Pecan Bayou out of its banks on Highway 36 late Monday afternoon.  Elsewhere in the area, a Flood Warning  has been issued for the Leon River near DeLeon through Friday evening.  Flood stage is 12 feet but the river is forecast to crest at 14.7 feet Wednesday morning.  Moderate out of bank flooding can be expected along the river above and below the State Highway 16 Bridge at DeLeon.
