The Brownwood Lions will compete in a 7-on-7 Division II state qualifying tournament Saturday, May 29, at Midlothian Heritage.
The Lions will compete in Pool B at the Heritage grass practice, located at 4000 FM 1387, against Krum at 9 a.m., district rival Waxahachie Life at 9:45 a.m. and Waco Connally at 10:30 a.m.
Brownwood, which is 2-4 in two state qualifiers thus far, defeated Krum, 22-14, in its very first tournament game at Graham on May 15.
The winner of Pool B will meet the survivor of Pool A – which features Heritage, Tyler Chapel Hill, Wills Point and Whitesboro – at 11:30 a.m. At Heritage’s stadium for the right to advance to the 7-on-7 Division II state tournament at Veterans Memorial Park and Athletic Complex in College Station June 24-25.
The other two pools feature Paris, Springtown, Lindale and Whitney in Pool C along with Lake Belton, Stephenville, Graham and Sunnyvale in Pool D.
The Lions are seeking a 21st straight appearance in the 7-on-7 state tournament.
