A strong thunderstorm moved through Coleman between 8:30 and 9:30 Monday morning and caused considerable damage around town.  According to ColemanTODAY.com, there were limbs and tin blown down all over town, and low water crossings were filling with rain run-off.  City crews and the police and sheriff’s departments were removing wind-blown objects out of streets in areas from the Palestine and Walnut intersection to 6th and Colorado St.  Large tree limbs and tin from sheds have been removed so far. More severe storms are forecast to develop over the Coleman and Brownwood areas between 6 and 10 pm tonight, continue overnight and continue Tuesday morning.  Some storms are likely going to be severe with large hail, damaging wind and very heavy rain.  Isolated tornadoes are also possible.  Stay weather alert and have several ways to receive severe weather warnings.
