Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Aaron was born on December 29, 1950, to Everett and Alyne (Horton) LeMond of Jacksboro, Texas. He graduated from Bangs High School in 1969.

Aaron married his high school sweetheart, Rita Mae Blair on September 25, 1970, in Bangs, Texas at the Bangs Church of Christ. Shortly after they wed, he joined the Army and served in Vietnam from 1971-1972.

Through the years Aaron worked construction, worked in the oil fields, and worked for the United States Post Office starting in 1979. He served in many roles including, Postmaster in May, Texas and then retired as Postmaster in Bangs in 2006. After retirement, he started a new journey at the Ron Jackson State School. He served as the preacher at the Church of Christ in Santa Anna and Zephyr and would fill in anytime he was asked. Aaron was an active and long-time member of the Bangs Church of Christ.

He lived to serve God and his family. If you had the opportunity to hear him, you knew what he preached and taught was from his heart. He preached a message that somehow always fit what you needed in your life at the time. He wouldn’t shy from leading the song, he would just let you know it wouldn’t be in the right key. He loved hard, prayed hard and lived hard.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita Mae LeMond; sons, James LeMond and wife Juliet of Early, Jason LeMond and girlfriend Erin Adam of Austin, Josh LeMond and wife Debbie of East Alton, IL; he was blessed by his grandchildren: Jaycent “Micheal” LeMond, Kelci LeMond, Kayla Fischer and her husband Bradley, Caitlin LeMond, Ryan LeMond, Kelli LeMond, and Carson LeMond; and sister, Ella McMillan and husband Greg of Lake Brownwood. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Alyne LeMond; adoptive parents, Troy and Darlene Hanley; a brother, Everett Firl LeMond; and sister, Karen LeMond.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bangs Church of Christ youth summer camp programs (306 S Fifth St. Bangs, Texas 76823). Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
