The first of two days of District 6-4A track and field competition took place Wednesday at Gordon Wood Stadium, where the Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions combined to earn 10 berths in the area meet

The running finals of the district track meet start Thursday morning, April 1, at 11:00 am.

In the team standings, the Lady Lions are in second place with 39 points – ahead of Glen Rose (32), Gatesville (26.33), and Lampasas (22.33) – while trailing front-runner Stephenville (97.33).

The Lions find themselves in third place with 41 points, behind Stephenville (79) and Lampasas (51) while leading Gatesville (37) and Glen Rose (3).

The Area Track Meet will be in Mineral Wells on April 14.
