The Howard Payne University softball team finished out the series verses Louisiana college with a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
The Lady Jackets got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth inning. Alexis Sullivan hit a two-run home run to give HPU the 2-0 lead.
Louisiana College scored one run in the seventh inning, but Howard Payne held them off, winning the game 2-1.
Alexis Sullivan and Tori Muro had one hit each.
Tia Campos (6-4) pitched 6.0 innings and recorded the win. Campos allowed one run on five hits and struck out two. Bree Cason pitched one inning in relief and recorded her first save of the season.
Howard Payne will play McMurry University in a three-game series in Brownwood, Texas, on April 1st and 2nd.
