Evangelina Hernandez of San Saba, Texas passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 in her home with her family by her side at the age of 90.
A time of visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 17, at 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment is at San Saba City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hernandez was born in San Saba to Carlos Flores and Concepcion Garcia October 15. 1930. She met the love of her life, Pioquinto Hernandez while he was shearing sheep. After dating for awhile, they decided to get married on August 21, 1951. They lived in San Saba all their living lives, before Mr. Hernandez passing. Evangelina retired in 1985 from private sitting with the elderly.
They loved spending as much time as possible with their grandkids. She gave all her attention to her kids and grandkids. She loved to play bingo, going to visit the senior citizen center to visit all her friends. She also enjoyed playing word search, and crocheting, working in the yard and taking care of her plants and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Piquinto Hernandez, her mother and father, one son Juan Hernandez, sisters, Paula Bernal, Janie Vasquez , Elina Gomez; brothers Alfredo Flores, Eliondoro Flores, and Sispriano Flores.
Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her daughters, Angie and husband Jesse Torres of San Saba, Eva Hernandez of Dallas and Mary Hernandez also of Dallas. One sister, Dora Zapata of Lubbock, Texas. Grandsons, Isaac Barron, Marcus Sterling, Bruce Sterling Jr., and Chris Sterling, Linner Wooten Jr.; granddaughters Jade and husband Robert Walker, Shellby Buttler, and Ashley Hernandez and eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
