COLEMAN – The city has activated an Emergency Shelter at the Bill Franklin Center, located at 13172 State Hwy 206 at the Coleman Rodeo Grounds.  If you need assistance getting to the shelter, contact City and Rural Rides (CARR) at 325-280-7051.

The city of Coleman is still currently experiencing power outages affecting the entire city. Failures in power generation plants across Texas have caused serious delays in restoring power statewide. City officials have been in frequent contact with AEP, the City of Coleman’s main power supplier, throughout the day. There is a high probability that power will be intermittent at best over the next couple of days.

There is a possibility that power will not be restored at all for the next 12-24 hours and frigid temperatures may be life threatening. 

If you decide to go to the shelter, please bring bedding, food/drink, personal medications and any other personal necessities.   Please note: We cannot accommodate pets.
