Area Athletes Announce College Plans

Athletes from Bangs and Blanket signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to continue playing their respective sports at the college level.  A Brownwood Lion announced his intentions on Twitter Wednesday.

BANGS – Trey Ivey, District 2-3A Division 2 Lineman of the Year, will continue his academic and football career as a Wrangler for Cisco College.  Ivey is shown below with his head coach, Kyle Maxfield.

BLANKET – He’s hard to miss on a 6-man football field. Blanket Tiger Tyler Simpson, at 6-5, makes a big jump to NCAA D2 football, signing his letter of intent to become an Angelo State University Ram.  Simpson is shown below on signing day.

BROWNWOOD – Brownwood Lion senior safety Khyren Deal announced on Twitter Wednesday night that he has committed to play football at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. As a senior, Deal was a second-team all-District 5-4A Division I selection after leading the Lions with 98 tackles.
