If you have your name on the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department list to receive the COVID vaccine, check your e-mail.

Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood and the local health department will give 600 doses of the COVID vaccine this Wednesday at Gordon Wood Stadium, but only if you are already on the vaccine list.  You can’t just show up and ask for the vaccine.

Lisa Dick, administrator of the local health department, explained the procedure to Brownwood County Commissioners on Monday.

“We are receiving 600 vaccines through the hospital and so Hendrick Brownwood and the health department are combining forces.  We will be having a drive through for 600 doses on Wednesday.  What we’ll be doing is – we’ll be taking the people that signed up on the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department list.  We’ll be sending out information to those that meet the qualifications.”

Those emails should go out today (Monday) and those who don’t receive email notifications will be contacted by phone.

If you have not put your name on the list yet, there is a link to sign up on the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department website through the City of Brownwood or CLICK HERE to go to that page.

“The hospital has also agreed that we will work off the same list, so they will be referring people to the Brownwood/Brown County list so that will be a concerted effort with both groups together,” Dick said.

Almost 4,000 people have registered through the health department to receive the COVID vaccine.
