Alejandro Lira Sr., 80, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021. A Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM and Rosary at 6:00 PM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, 303 Early Blvd., Early, Texas. Funeral will be held in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico.
Alejandro was born December 18, 1940 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Agustin Lira Sr. and Inocencia Zapata Lira. Alejandro went to school in Mexico and worked in Mexico ranching. He loved working with cattle and lambs in Agriculture. He moved to America in 1983 where he continued to work with dairy Cows in Comanche before he started working for Kohler where he retired. Alejandro married Blasa Munoz in Mexico in 1966 and they were blessed with five children. Alejandro and Blasa had the type of relationship that everyone hopes they can find. His favorite past time was singing to his beloved. Alejandro was at peace driving his John Deere tractor. He was a man who loved to speak about his history and about Mexico DF and Tamaulipas. He enjoyed being in Brownwood because it was near his children and his grandchildren, but his heart always yearned for home.
Alejandro is survived by his daughter, Juanita Mares and husband Gabriel & Laura Lira and husband Juan Garcia; sons, Alejandro Lira Jr. and wife Luz, Agustin Lira and wife Marivel, and Eugenio Lira and wife, Breydy; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Alejandro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Blasa Lira.
