Wanda Agatha Templeton was born December 12, 1932 in Silver Valley, the daughter of Herbert Lee (Hub) Templeton, Sr. and Irene Agatha McAnally.  She grew up in Silver Valley where she attended elementary school  and then graduated from Novice High School in 1950.  On May 10, 1952 she married Bobby Joe Corder, Sr. in Coleman and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1956.  Wanda became a young widow with two children and another one on the way when her husband died.  Wanda was a strong, determined independent woman who worked hard to raise and provide for her children. When she became a grandmother, she doted on her grandchildren and left many happy memories for them.  To support her family, she worked for a number of years in retail sales for Geo. D. Rhone Company.  After Rhone’s sold, she worked for Berry Hardware and then finally for Cooper Supply.  She was a member of Silver Valley Baptist Church until it closed and then moved her membership to North Coleman Baptist Church.  She was actively involved in the Home Demonstration Club and the Silver Valley Cemetery Association.

She is survived by her three children, Becky Johnson, Judy McCorkle and husband Billy, Bobby Joe Corder, Jr. and wife Kelly, all of Silver Valley; eight grandchildren, Sherri Merrill and husband John of White Chapel, Christi Northway and husband Scott of Coleman, Misti Shoemaker and husband Luke of Hamlin, Kelby McCorkle of Silver Valley, Tanner Corder and wife Lauren of Abilene, Cody Corder of Silver Valley, Tyler Poor of Silver Valley and Jacob Poor of Abilene; 9 great-grandchildren, Jansen Merrill, Cayden, Connor and Jaylie Steffey, Brant Northway, Brady and Kylee Shoemaker, Miley Young and Miles Corder; one brother, D. C. Templeton of Rankin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, H. L. Templeton, Jr.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Silver Valley Cemetery Association, 281 CR 474, Coleman, Texas 76834.
