Sleet Causing Streets to Ice, Snow Expected Tonight

snow-forecast

From KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner – An upper level low is spinning over the Hill Country, with the center of the low just north of Kerrville.  As the colder air associated with the low moves overhead into the Brownwood area, sleet and snow should increase across the KOXE listening area.  As of 6:00 pm, sleet was falling in Brownwood with a little snow.  Expect roads to become even more hazardous overnight.  Travel is discouraged.  A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through early Friday morning.  Temperatures should remain between 30 and 32 overnight.  Thawing and melting should begin between 9 and Noon Friday when temperatures warm back above freezing.
