On Thursday, Dec. 31, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 71 positive COVID-19 test results,  118 negative, and 70 recoveries.  Of the 71 positives, 52 were PCR, and 19 were antigen. There are currently 17 hospitalized in Brown County.

Beginning Monday, January 4, 2021, the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) COVID-19 mobile team will be offering free COVID-19 testing services in Brownwood on January 4th , 5th ,6th, 7th and 8th  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gordon Wood Stadium located at 3206 Milam Drive.

-No symptoms are required

-Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes before

-Results are available in 48-96 hours.

-Positive results receive a medical consultation from a provider.

Future testing services will be scheduled after the management team gauges the effectiveness of the five-day-a-week testing availability and community need for more regular testing.
