Local officials elected during the November general election will take the Oath of Office this coming Friday, January 1.
Brown County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, will conduct swearing-in ceremonies for newly-elected Constables Troy Henderson and Michael Isbell, and Constables Roy Parrack and Robert Mullins, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Court at the Brown County Courthouse.
35th District Judge Stephen Ellis will swear in newly-elected 35th District Judge Mike Smith at 10:00 a.m. on the steps of the Brown County Courthouse, also on January 1.
Judge Ellis is retiring after a combined 44-year career of practicing law and serving as a prosecutor and Brown and Mills Counties District Judge.
