Bettie Gay Brown , 71 of Santa Anna, TX passed peacefully to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, December 18,  2020 at 5:35 AM at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Private family services were held Friday at the Cedar Point Cemetery with Rev. Dick Schultz officiating.  Services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

She was born Bettie Gay Zabel on April 17, 1949 in Kermit, Texas to Charles Louis and Betty Francis Gay Zabel. Bettie was raised in Kermit moving to Rockwood, TX and graduating from Santa Anna High School in 1968. She continued her education graduating from Gary’s Beauty College in Brownwood.

On May 17, 1969 Bettie married the love of her life Larry Dwayne Brown in Rockwood, Texas and they have celebrated 51 years of marriage. They lived in Big Spring moving to Santa Anna in 1972. Bettie was a devoted member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Coleman since 1980. She was a beautician for many years n her favorite pastime was spending time with her adoring grandchildren.

Son – Chuck and wife Julie Brown of Abilene, TX

5 Grandchildren – Bradley Brown, Brandon Brown, Ethan White, Christopher Brown and Kymberlynn Bettie Grace Brown

3 Brothers – Rick Zabel of Early, TX, Larry Zabel of Brownwood, TX, Jerry Zabel of Brownwood, TX

Bettie was preceded in death by her brother Charles Don Zabel in 2016
