Special Called Brownwood City Council Meeting Tuesday

The Brownwood City Council will hold a Special Called Meeting at 9:00 am Tuesday, December 15, at City Hall.  The posted agenda is below.

1. Call to Order
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Invocation
4. Citizen Presentations
Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.
5. Public Hearing
A. Council may conduct a joint public hearing with the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding an amendment to the City’s Zoning Ordinance permitting certain concrete batch plants in M-1 restricted industrial district zones.

Following the public hearing, the Commission may recommend the approval of the amendments to the City’s Zoning Ordinance permitting certain concrete batch plants in M-1 restricted industrial district zones and the City Council may pass an ordinance on first reading adding the amendments to the City’s Zoning Ordinance.

6. Requests and Presentations
A. Consider ratification of the Brownwood Municipal Development District Board action for an incentive to Steven McCrane to reimburse up to $18,027 for parking lot development located at 508 N. Center to be used as public parking for no less than 10 years.

7. Executive Session:
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:
Section 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney
Section 551.072 – Deliberation Regarding Real Property
A. Discussion regarding the possible purchase of property near E. Commerce.

8. Action as a result of the Executive Session.
A. Council may consider ratification of the Brownwood Municipal Development District funding the City of Brownwood purchase of property near E. Commerce.
9. Adjournment
