Ray Edward Warren, age 89, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Coleman County.
A graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
Ray was born December 6, 1930 in Menard to Edwin Ray Warren and Lula Bales Warren. He grew up in Menard and graduated from Menard High School. Ray proudly served in the United States Army as an engineer and was stationed in England and Germany during the Korean conflict. He married Develand Schneider on June 5, 1954 in Menard. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2015. He was a rancher and raised Angus cattle for many years. Ray felt most comfortable being outdoors on his ranch and working with his hands. He always said that he would rather have a fine horse than a new pick-up truck. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and grandson, Cody Ray Warren.
He is survived by his sons, Lee Edwin Warren and wife Myra of Sulphur Springs, Daniel Ray Warren and wife LeAn of Valera, and David Paul Warren, D.V.M. and wife Carol of Goliad; his grandchildren, Lee, Lisa, John, Benton, Aaron, Chariti, and Steven; and numerous great-grandchildren.
