Elizabeth Delores Stewart, 76 (Round Rock)

Elizabeth Delores (Crosby) Stewart, age 76 of Round Rock, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020. She was born to Al and Cleo Crosby on January 22, 1944 in Coleman County. She grew up on a stock farm near Leaday, now covered by Lake Ivie on the Colorado River. Delores graduated from Mozelle High School in 1962. She then graduated from Durham Business School in San Antonio where she studied Accounting.

Delores was a lifelong Christian attending Leaday Baptist Church and Cowboy Heritage Church in Clyde. As recently as this year, she had enjoyed reading the Bible cover to cover during quarantine. She lived in several places in Texas throughout her life, including San Antonio, Baird, Lamesa, Clyde and Abilene. Among a number of jobs during her life she worked at an arts and craft store, as a bookkeeper at several car dealerships, and an addiction counselor to prisoners. Delores met the love of her life and married him in 1995 in Austin. She and Eddie Mac Stewart spent many years faithfully volunteering and serving members of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Panhandle and Big Country regions. Delores also enjoyed her cats and gardening.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Eddie Mac” Stewart; and her parents Alfred Gaston Crosby and Cleo Bell (Bryson) Crosby; and stepson Randy Mac Stewart of McLean.

She was survived by her brother Edgar Crosby and sister-in-law LaRue of Round Rock; nephew Kent Crosby of Liberty Hill; nephew Burke Crosby and wife Tilly of Round Rock; great nieces and nephew Brooke, Katy, and Ryan Crosby; stepdaughter Karen (Stewart) Crockett and husband Kent of Sugar Land; stepson Charles Stewart of Sonora.

Due to the pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held Friday afternoon, November 20, 2020 in the Coleman City Cemetery, where Delores will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.

In lieu of flowers, Delores asked that donations be made to the charity of your choice or the American Diabetes Association.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
