The Brownwood Lady Lions gave up a first-place tie in District 6-4A Tuesday night with a five-set loss at Gatesville, 25-14, 18-25, 28-26, 13-25, 15-7.
Katelyn Windham led the Lady Lions with 12 kills trailed by Jaylen Savage and Kylie Morris with eight each, Olivia Fowler with six, Tessa Goodwin with three and Ashlyn Storm with two.
Brownwood (11-7, 5-2) will visit Stephenville (23-4, 6-1) – which defeated Lampasas Tuesday night – at 5:30 p.m. Friday needing a win to force a tie for the 6-4A championship.
The Lady Lions would then enter the playoffs as the district’s No. 1 seed having swept Stephenville. With a loss, Brownwood will be the No. 2 seed out of District 6-4A.
